Sydney Cook State Farm Insurance

 Sydney Cook from State Farm Insurance - BEWARE! An account from a loyal 20 year customer.


My wife and I met with Sydney Cook from State Farm Insurance in March 2012 in person at her office in Hamilton, Ontario.  We instructed Sydney Cook to remove an insurance policy for an automobile we no longer owned, as we sold the vehicle. 

However Sydney Cook continued to charge us insurance (automatic payments from our bank account) on the vehicle.  We want a refund of $161.25, as Sydney Cook continued to charge us insurance for a period of 15 months up until we called our bank and put a stop order on Sydney Cook taking funds from our bank account for a car we do not own, after we met in person with her to cancel the insurance.  (As a note, we have been a loyal customer for over 20 years).

On communicating with Sydney Cook on the phone regarding the matter she became furious and hung up the phone on me.  I called back again, and again, Sydney Cook hung up the phone on me.  I called back a third time, and yet again Sydney Cook hung up the phone on me.  I have made a formal complaint to State Farm corporate head office in the U.S. regarding her behavior. 

In writing, Sydney Cook says we are no longer a customer and will no longer respond, and will not give our money back.

We strongly recommend not doong business with Sydney Cook, we can only imagine the horrors of having to deal with Sydney Cook if we actually had an insurance claim to file with her.  We have also had to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding the matter in addition to taking the matter up with our bank and the Provincial Superintendent of Insurance as we believe the behavior and actions of Sydney Cook from State Farm Insurance may be in violation of the Insurance Act of Ontario.
